Distributors Hardware – Using your Own Hardware
A distributor may choose to use his/her own Blackberry Hardware. The PGP Support Package Software must be added to the Blackberry Desktop manager on your Local Computers ( See instructions Below). The Blackberry must have this software loaded before “Enrolling with the PGP Universal Server” and Downloading the Keys.
1. Open your internet browser and go to the following address by pasting into the address field: ftp://02bed71.netsolhost.com
- An FTP box will pop up:
- Enter: Username: secure_dist
Password: rollback
2. Download and install to PC the PGP_Support_package.exe from the FTP. This will add the PGP Support Package to the Blackberry Desktop manager.
3. Plug in Your Blackberry Hardware (Make Sure you have the Device Software for the specific device as well).
- It will only take about 10 Seconds for the PGP Support package to Load to the blackberry.
Instructions to Load PGP Encrypted Email on Blackberry
1. WIPE HANDHELD: (If different Enterprise Activation Email on unit or persistent problems. Otherwise this step can be skipped)
- Go Options, Security Options, General Settings, click wheel and click Wipe Handheld.
2. ENTERPRISE ACTIVATION (Request to Reset Email on Server for Download before Attempting by sending email to techsupport@pgpmessaging.com)
- Go Options, Advanced Options, Enterprise Activation. Enter email and password "secure" then click activate.
- Blackberry will display "activation complete" when Enterprise Activation has downloaded successfully.
3. ENROLL WITH UNIVERSAL SERVER
- When email downloaded, Go Options, Security Options, PGP, click wheel and click Enroll with Universal Server. `Box's will pop-up, click "don't ask again"/ “continue” / ok, and it will ask to download keys. Say yes and then Save when finished.
Always Test Blackberry by sending email to itself with Test in Subject field so client can see that it was tested for them.
